Ground-breaking in Niedernhall
The bright summer day suits the event: Bright faces at the groundbreaking ceremony for another production hall at PVS-Kunststofftechnik in Niedernhall. For this occasion, a spontaneously organized barbecue for the employees takes place on the premises.
The plastics processor is investing again at its headquarters in Niedernhall and with a planned investment volume of € 7.3 million, will create around 3,000 m² of additional production space and 500 m² of office and social space. This is a significant event and a great challenge for the medium-sized company, especially since the last extension of PVS was not very far back. It was only in 2012 that the last 4,400 m² production hall was completed.
"Over the past seven years, we have doubled our sales and our workforce," says General Manager Juergen Frank in his speech before the groundbreaking ceremony. Therefore, it is not surprising that the medium-sized company needs to expand its production capacity to handle new projects. In the planning, particular attention was paid to energy efficiency. In the eyes of an injection molder, the combination of a cogeneration unit with absorption chiller and a controlled ventilation system opens up interesting starting points for saving energy, all of which will be implemented in the upcoming new building. "In times of rising energy prices an absolute must", Director Production Willi Horndacher and Director Commercial Services Dieter Helwig agree.
Not only at the headquarters in the Kochertal is invested, also in the foreign locations is expanded vigorously. From August, a new 1,400 m² logistics center will be built at the Celldoemoelk site in Hungary. In March of this year, a second production site was established in Taicang in China, which lies north of Shanghai and has historically close economic ties with Germany. The company headquarters in Taicang has a production area of 4,200 m². With these investments, the PVS Group will be able to fall back on a production area of 15,000 m² in Niedernhall and 33,000 m² worldwide.
"We are pleased that the construction work can now start and we are even more looking forward to moving in," says General Manager Juergen Frank. The completion of the extension in Niedernhall is planned until the summer of 2019.
The PVS Group is one of the leading plastics processors specializing in the insulation of electric motors and the manufacture of precision blower wheels and sophisticated technical components. Currently around 500 employees work in the PVS Group, 300 of them in Niedernhall.
